Values we live by
Dignity over diagnosis
We elevate every individual above the stigma or confines of their diagnosis or their past. Each service user’s care plan is tailored to their needs, with clinicians and care teams working collaboratively to deliver the highest standards of care.
Families who matter
We know how powerless partners, friends and family members can feel when their loved ones go into short or long-term care. From family forums to social events, we do everything in our power to help relatives feel informed and involved.
Identity not identikit
We don’t have a template or a colour palette for our homes, hospitals and supported living centres. Like everything we do, our focus is on individuality, with creative and stimulating spaces decorated around the needs of the people in our care.
Meaningful experiences
We work with new services users and/or their relatives to understand their preferences and build in meaningful activities where we can. For example, pub lunches, gallery visits, seaside trips and visiting cemeteries of loved ones, to name a few.
Sense of community
We encourage service users to develop links with local communities and increase their own social networks. For example, supporting LGBTQ+ service users to attend ‘Out in the City’ events to help them form links with the local LGBTQ+ community.
Making voices heard
We see every individual voice as way for us to collectively do better. We’re always looking at new ways to monitor the experiences of our service users, including how we capture and publish compliments and complaints via our clinical governance data system.
