Our accommodation
The Peele is a modern purpose-built care home set within its own private grounds. Designed to promote individuality and a private space to feel like home, service users are encouraged to personalise their bedrooms – all of which are en-suite. Shared gardens with benches and sensory planting offer a place to walk and relax, while an activity room, library and living rooms offer shared spaces to socialise and take part in activities such as bingo, dominoes, arts and crafts, and tabletop gardening.
Our services
We’re investing heavily in the training and recruitment of our staff to deliver services that focus on the comfort, dignity and independence of those in our care. We have one activity coordinator who is solely dedicated to the wellbeing of our residents: encouraging one-on-one activities based on individual interests and group interactions such as school visits, local entertainers and themed food nights. We always think outside the box and believe that technology can help to bring people closer together, using Facebook portals, iPads and virtual sessions help to keep residents engaged with the community, connect families with their loved ones, and support those whose first language isn’t English or with communication challenges.
Super food
As the latest member of the Equilibrium family, we’ve been on a journey with staff and service users to bring our culture of care, respect and creativity to The Peele. One area where we’ve made supersized changes: is to the food. Firm believers that eating should be an enjoyable experience that brings people closer together, we’ve recruited a new chef from the high-end hospitality industry to curate a menu of freshly cooked meals and carefully designed soft food and modified diets. Printed menus, table settings and background music further help to transform mealtimes into a dining experience that focuses on choice, dignity and pleasure. In fact, when it comes to food at The Peele, it’s fair to say we’re making a meal of it.
