Graham Glascott, Clinical Nursing Manager leads the care team at Oakland House Nursing Home, a leading service caring for adults with complex mental health needs. His role focuses on guiding and supporting staff to deliver outstanding service user experiences and outcomes, to ensure a good quality of life, whilst driving care standards that go beyond national guidance and regulatory compliance.

Graham’s motivation lies in his commitment to enhancing lives. He has a clear vision: to make Oakland House a centre of excellence for enduring mental health in Manchester, and beyond. His goal is to set a new benchmark for enduring mental health care, inspiring other similar services to adopt a new model of care.

Person-Centred Care

For Graham, success means service user empowerment to live fuller, happier lives and be involved in their own care. His main objectives focus on helping service users feel content, well-cared for, and increasingly independent. Key to this is ongoing Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) communication and engagement, both internally and with wider care bodies, and refinement of care plans with service users as needs change or progress.

As technology advances, Graham sees opportunities for the team to streamline documentation processes of the essential information that is recorded each shift. By simplifying these tasks, care practices and standards can be raised, whilst releasing both clinical and support teams; enabling more time to focus on service user interactions and their individual needs, providing the care and attention they deserve.

A Great Place to Work

For Graham, the dedicated team and their approach to care delivery make Oakland House Nursing Home the only service for enduring mental health that he wants to work within. These shared values reaffirm Equilibrium Healthcare’s commitment to providing outstanding, person-centred care. A truly great place to work.
