More than a nursing home
Oakland House provides a family, dedicated to supporting the well-being and independence of those in our care.
Specialising in the care of individuals with dementia, enduring mental health conditions and secondary illnesses, we recognise that each person’s journey is unique. That’s why we think creatively, offering personalised support that meets each person’s needs. We’ve built a safe and compassionate space where service users thrive in ways that matter most to them.
Well-led, our team includes everyone from our Registered Manager and Deputy Manager to skilled Registered Nurses, experienced chefs, dedicated housekeepers, Activity Coordinators, and Care Practitioners. Together, we craft a true home.
Person-centred care
Person-centred care is embedded in our daily operations.
Tailored care take into account physical and mental health, personal history, and preferences. From healthcare needs to lifestyle choices, we focus on the whole person, respecting every aspect of their well-being.
We keep care flexible. Regular assessments ensure our support adapts as needs evolve, delivering the right care at the right time.
Building strong connections with the community is a key part of our approach. Family visits, social activities, and outings—like shopping trips or dining out—help maintain independence and a sense of normalcy.
Our approach
We empower service users to live as independently as possible. For those with capacity, we encourage them to be actively involved in their own care.
Their voices matter, and we actively listen—whether through open conversations or user-led forums. Our goal is to shape care together, ensuring it’s right for every individual.
